Invitation to Participate — CDRA 2026
Dear Faculty, Department Representatives, and University Administrators,

I am writing to invite your institution to participate in the College Drone Racing Association (CDRA), powered by MultiGP, and to encourage your students to join the 2026 collegiate tournament. CDRA is designed to support institutions that want an accessible, structured pathway for students to engage in applied engineering and competitive technology programs through FPV drone racing.
At its core, collegiate drone racing combines hands-on STEM with measurable performance outcomes—students iterate, test, and improve within real constraints, developing skills that align with engineering education and workforce readiness.
STEM & Engineering value for your students
  • Applied electrical & computer engineering: power systems, signal integrity, embedded concepts, radio protocols, and troubleshooting.
  • Systems engineering mindset: integration of hardware, software, control, and human factors under strict performance constraints.
  • Rapid prototyping & iteration: design-test-measure cycles, data-driven improvements, and technical documentation.
  • Team-based execution: defined roles (pilot, builder, technician, analyst, media/operations) mirroring real engineering teams.
  • Recruitment & engagement: a modern competitive format that attracts and retains students across STEM disciplines.
What participation looks like
CDRA provides an official structure to register your institution, organize a school chapter, and enable students to compete under a unified collegiate banner. Programs can be hosted as a student organization, a lab/club, or integrated into existing engineering or esports initiatives.
The 2026 season includes competitive opportunities such as the CDRA eSport Tournament (team-vs-team format over multiple weekends) as a pathway toward the CDRA Collegiate Championship.

Suggested next steps
  1. Identify a faculty/staff liaison (optional but recommended) and a student lead.
  2. Create a school chapter on MultiGP and enroll student pilots.
  3. Register the institution for the 2026 season and confirm eligibility details.
  4. Promote participation across engineering, robotics, aviation, and esports communities on campus.
If helpful, we can provide a concise campus-ready information pack (program summary, learning outcomes, and a “how to start” checklist) for distribution to students and department leadership.

Official pages and registration are hosted on MultiGP.
Thank you for your time. If you can point us to the appropriate contact (engineering department, student activities, esports, robotics, or aviation), we would be happy to coordinate a short introduction call.

Sincerely,
College Drone Racing Association (CDRA)
